Kestrels 2025 - 2026
Welcome to our homepage.
'Encourage one another and build each other up' 1 Thessalonians 5:11
We are the school's Year 5 and 6 pupils. In the Kestrels class, we strive to always encourage each other and build each other up and do this through living out our Christian values: joy, community, trust, respect, courage and friendship.
Welcome back and we're ready to begin the Summer term! We've got lots of exciting activities to do this term. In English we'll be studying a book called 'Plastic Planet' by Georgia Amson-Bradshaw - a highly informative text that explores how widespread and dangerous plastic pollution is and possible solutions to this crisis. All of our English writing will be based on this book this half term. In Maths, we'll be using the White Rose scheme looking at Shape and Space - lots of geometry work and investigating the properties of different types of shapes. Year 6s will also have a focus on SATs type activities to hone their skills for SATs week. In Science, we'll be studying plastic pollution, linking in with our English book. In topic, the class will be looking at the human and physical geography of North and South America. PE this half term will be Football on Tuesday and Tennis on Wednesday.
We would also like to welcome Mrs Pearce back into the Kestrels team. Mrs Pearce will be teaching Wednesday, Thursday and Friday each week.
