Our School Day

Opening Hours

Children can arrive in school from 8.40am and our school day starts at 8.50am when the children are registered while completing short, focused activities set by the class teacher.  The school day ends at 3.15pm when the children are collected by their parents or carers from the playground. This is a total of 31 hours in school each week.

Playtime and Lunch time.

Playtime is from 10.30 to 10.45 (Kestrels/Wrens & Bluebell Nursery) and 10:45-11:00am (Robins & House Martins).  We use the front yard and school field.  We have have a trim-trail and a KS2 climbing area as well as having lots of equipment for the children to play with.  Lunch time for foundation stage and key stage 1 starts at 12.00pm and ends at 1pm.  For key stage 2 lunch time begins at 12.15pm and ends at 1pm. 

Drop off and Collection.

Children can arrive to school from 8.40am at which point a teacher will be on duty to supervise the children.  At the end of the school day children should be collected from the playground.  The school gates will open from 3.15pm to allow parents to wait for their children.  If you find that you will be late for any reason or there is a change in the person collected your child please ring the office to let us know.

Collective Worship

During the week we have daily whole school collective worship. On a Monday all classes follow the My Happy Mind programme and this helps to set the children up for the week ahead. Teachers lead a class worship on a Monday. Tuesday- Mrs Mort (Headteacher) leads a whole school worship and focuses on our key value for the half term. Wednesday- Mrs Edwards and Mrs Mort lead songs of praise. Thursday- Reverend Tim and Reverend Norma lead worship and continue to explore our value. Our Head Boy and Girl lead Friday's celebration worship. Our whole school come together to celebrate achievements throughout the week.
