Reading Miles Global Challenge Kestrels

Reading Challenge

Over the last few weeks, we have been involved in an exciting reading challenge. We were rewarded with 500 miles for every 10 minutes we spent reading. We collected these reading miles in our special reading passport on our very own reading world tour - a whopping 33,000 miles (or 11 hours) in total!

A wall map which charted the Reading Miles Global Challenge route was used so that we could plot our progress each week. Every child who completes the challenge will be rewarded with a special certificate and a £5 book token to buy a book of their choice.

We have really enjoyed this challenge, here are some of our comments:

I enjoyed this, it really motivated me to read. Elliot

It was fun travelling around the world with just reading a book. Freya

I enjoyed this and it helped me to read more. Oliver J.

This really motivated me to read and now I am more than halfway through my Harry Potter book. Charlie

It has been fun reading like this; it helps me to concentrate more on reading as we are working together as a whole class. Jasmine

I loved this challenge and would really enjoy doing something similar with another topic. Louis

Please see the picture below of the children who have completed the challenge.
